The authors study the global exponential stability of the system \[ \begin{align*}{ & \dot y(t) = -A_0 y(t) + AF(y(t)) + \int_{-\infty}^t P(t-s)G(y(s))\, ds + I, \quad t \neq t_k,\cr & y(t) = H_k(y(t-)) + J_k, \quad t=t_k,\cr}\end{align*} \] where \(y(t)\) is a vector, \(A_0\) is a diagonal matrix with positive diagonal elements, \(I\) and \(J\) are constants, and \(F\), \(G\) and \(H_k\) are continuous functions. Then it is shown that if certain conditions, which require that \(A_0\) is sufficiently large, are satisfied, then the zero solution is exponentially stable. The proof uses an integro-differential inequality with impulsive initial conditions.
