The paper studies a system of parabolic equations describing the Penrose-Fife phase field model controlled by the temperature for the solid-liquid phase transition indicated by the order parameter with a homogeneous Neumann boundary condition. The authors establish the existence of a unique \(H^1\) solution globally in time satisfying additional qualitative properties. It is also shown that a linearized stable stationary solution is dynamically stable with respect to the order parameter.
