The author constructs quantum link invariants associated to the Lie super algebra \(\mathfrak D_{2\;1,\alpha}\) using the quantum groups method as well as the Kontsevich integral method. For simple Lie algebras the two methods yield the same invariants. For the case of \(\mathfrak D_{2\;1,\alpha}\) a similar claim, conjectured in the paper under review, was shown in [\textit{N. Geer}, Algebr. Geom. Topol. 5, 1111--1139 (2005; Zbl 1118.57014)]. It is shown in the present paper that the quantum link invariant constructed using the quantum group method is trivial. The author therefore modifies it to give a new invariant. This invariant contains an infinity of Vassiliev invariants that are not seen by the quantum invariants coming from Lie algebras (so neither by the colored HOMFLY-PT nor by the colored Kauffman polynomials). Some conjectures concerning the values of this invariant are given.
