Let \({\mathbb{K}}(Y)\) be the family of all fuzzy subsets of a metric space \(Y\) which are normal and send-compact, \(D\) the supremum metric on \({\mathbb{K}}(Y)\) defined by \(D(f,g)=\sup\{h(\{f\geq t\}, \{g\geq t\}) \mid t\in I-\{0\} \}\), where \(h\) is the Hausdorff distance on \textbf{K}\((Y)\), the set of all nonempty compact sets of \(Y\). The authors give some necessary and sufficient conditions for a subset \(A\) in \(({\mathbb{K}}(Y), D)\) to be relatively compact.
