The authors classify radially symmetric solutions of the equation \(\Delta u + f(u) = 0\) on \(\mathbb R^n \setminus \{0\}\), where where \(n > 2\) and \(f\) is a smooth function that is zero for \(u \leq 0\) and positive otherwise. The classification is based on the behavior of \(f\) for very large and very small values of \(r = | x| \). An important tool in the investigation is the Pokhozhaev identity.
