Circle geometry and three-dimensional subregular translation planes (Q2493439)

The authors construct several families of non-André subregular translation planes of order \(q^ 3\) with kernel GF\((q)\), where \(q\) is any prime power. The construction is based on the use of pencils of algebraic hypersurfaces in the projective line PG\((1,q^ 3)\), viewed as a three-dimensional circle geometry over GF\((q)\).
