Asymptotic partial decomposition for diffusion with sorption in thin structures (Q2493830)

The authors consider a model nonlinear elliptic equation stated for a thin domain. To this end the authors first recall the preliminary results about the asymptotic structure of the solution in a model linear problem. Then they consider the nonlinear equation \(\Delta u_\varepsilon= \alpha g(u_\varepsilon)+ f(x_1)\) in a thin rectangle. Existence and uniqueness results are obtained by the Banach fixed-point theorem. An asymptotic expansion of the solution is constructed and justified.
