The authors consider a version of the Bäcklund-Darboux transformations, where the Darboux matrix is represented in algebraic form as the transfer matrix function from the system theory. This allows to construct explicit solutions for the non-Abelian sine-Gordon equation, when the state matrix \(A\) in the representation of the Darboux matrix cannot be diagonalized. The results are also used to obtain explicit solutions and wave functions for nonlinear Schrödinger equations (coupled and multi-component), and self-induced transparency equations.
