Weighted divisor sums and Bessel function series (Q2494340)

The authors consider an identity on a finite trigonometric and a double infinite series of ordinary Bessel functions, stated without proof by Ramanujan on page 335 of his lost notebook. They establish a connection between Ramanujan's identity and divisor sums. In this context they derive a first published proof of Ramanujan's identity. The paper contains new results on weighted divisor sums and Bessel function series. The proof of Ramanujan's statement is based on the study of a corresponding identity for a double series of trigonometric functions.
