On a set of compact Riemannian manifolds, the author studies the spectral convergence of compact Riemannian manifolds in relation with the Gromov-Hausdorff distance and discuss the geodesic distances and the energy forms of the limit spaces. In this paper, the author shows certain compactness results on harmonic functions, or more generally, maps of least energy whose boundary values are prescribed by maps into a small ball of a Riemannian manifold, or energy minimizers in homotopy classes of continuous maps to a compact Riemannian manifold with nonpositive curvature. Part I, cf. Ann. Inst. Fourier 52, No. 4, 1219--1257 (2002; Zbl 1040.53053).
