Let \(U\) be a bounded open set in \(\mathbb{R}^{m}\) and let \(\mathbf{H}(U)\) denote the subspace of \(C(\overline{U})\) consisting of those functions that are harmonic on \(U\). It is known [\textit{H. Bauer}, Ann. Inst. Fourier 11, 89--136 (1961; Zbl 0098.06902)] that the set of regular boundary points \(\partial _{ \text{reg}}U\) is closed if and only if \(\mathbf{H}(U)\) is a lattice under the natural ordering. The present paper proves an analogue of this result for the collection \(\mathbf{H}^{1}(U)\) of pointwise limits of bounded sequences from \(\mathbf{H}(U)\). Thus the main theorem says (among other things) that \(\partial _{\mathrm{reg}}U\) is an \(F_{\sigma }\) set if and only if \(\mathbf{H}^{1}(U)\) is a lattice under the natural ordering. An example is given of a bounded open subset \(U\) of \(\mathbb{R}^{m}\) \((m>2)\) for which \( \partial _{\mathrm{reg}}U\) is not an \(F_{\sigma }\) set.
