The paper under review deals with special Lagrangian submanifolds in Calabi-Yau manifolds. It is noticed that special Lagrangian submanifolds in Calabi-Yau manifolds are minimal submanifolds of middle dimension. Motivated by this fact and mirror symmetry, the author proves the following theorem which is one of the main results in this paper: Let \(L\) be a connected closed immersed special Lagrangian submanifold in a closed Calabi-Yau 3-fold \(N\). If \(L\) has only isolated transversal self-intersection points, then \(L\) is the limit of a family of embedded closed special Lagrangian submanifolds in \(N\). He also studies the case \(\dim N>3\) and gives a result similar to the above.
