The authors consider the problem \[ \Delta^2u+c\Delta u=f(x,u),\;x\in\Omega\quad u=0,\;\Delta u=0,\;x\in\partial\Omega,\tag{1} \] where \(\Delta^2\) is the biharmonic operator and \(\Omega\) is a bounded domain in \(\mathbb R^N\) with smooth boundary. The authors prove the existence of the nontrival solution by linking theorem including the saddle point theorem, where \(C\) is one of the eigenvalues \(\lambda_k\) of \((-\Delta,H_0^1(\Omega))\) or not. By using a ``variational of linking'' theorem, they obtain two nontrivial solutions of (1) as well. Moreover, using the pseudo-index theory the authors prove the multiplicity of nontrivial solutions.
