The authors prove an extension of the theorem of \textit{T.\,D.\,Benavides} and \textit{P.\,L.\,Ramirez} [J.~Math.\ Anal.\ Appl.\ 291, No.\,1, 100--108 (2004; Zbl 1056.47039)] on a fixed point for a nonexpansive multimap \(T\) satisfying the inwardness condition on a bounded closed convex subset \(C\) of a Banach space \(X\), substituting the condition of nonexpansivity by the following one: \[ \limsup_n H(T(x_n),T(x)) \leq \limsup_n \| x_n - x \| \] for every sequence \(\{x_n\} \subset C\) such that \(d(x_n,T(x_n)) \to 0\) and for all \(x\) belonging to the asymptotic center of \(\{x_n\}\); here, \(H\) is the Hausdorff metric on the collection of all nonempty compact convex subsets of \(X\).
