A group \(G\) is called \((l,m,n)\)-generated if it is generated by elements \(x\) and \(y\) of orders \(l\) and \(m\), respectively, such that \(xy\) has order \(n\). In the paper under review the author considers the Harada-Norton simple group \(HN\) and proves that this group is \((p,q,r)\)-generated where \(p\), \(q\) and \(r\) are prime divisors of \(|HN|\) except \((p,q,r)=(2,3,5)\). The author determines conjugacy classes \(A\), \(B\) and \(C\) of \(HN\) with elements of orders \(p\), \(q\) and \(r\), respectively, such that an element \(x\) of \(A\) together with an element \(y\) of \(B\) generate \(HN\) where \(xy\) is an element of the class \(C\).
