Let \(\mathcal A_u (X)\) denote the holomorphic functions on the open unit ball of the complex Banach space \(X\) which are uniformly continuous on \(B_X\), endowed with the supremum norm. \(B\subset B_X\) is (in this setting) called a boundary for \(\mathcal A_u (X)\) if the norm of the elements of \(\mathcal A_u (X)\) can be found by taking the sup over \(B\). Such boundaries have previously been studied for \(X=c_0, \ell_p\), \(1\leq p\leq\infty\), for preduals of Lorentz sequence spaces and for \(C(K)\)-spaces. A quick survey of the main results from these earlier studies along with careful citation is given in the introduction. This paper continues the study of such boundaries for \(C(K)\)-spaces from [\textit{Y.\,S.\,Choi, D.\,Garcia, S.\,G.\,Kim} and \textit{M.\,Maestre}, J.~Math.\ Anal.\ Appl.\ 295, 80--96 (2004; Zbl 1059.46026)]. The most important new result is probably that for infinite compact \(K\) there is no minimal closed boundary for \(\mathcal A_u (C(K))\), a result previously known for scattered \(K\). A general result on where norm-attaining members of \(\mathcal A_u (X)\) attain their norm on \(B_{C(K,X)}\) is also proved; this happens at functions satisfying \(\| g(t)\| =1\) for all \(t\in K\) whenever \((K,X)\) has the extension property. This result gives interesting corollaries and throws light on earlier related results.
