A new approximate inertial manifold and associated algorithm (Q2495270)

Using a coarse and a fine grid and a Galerkin correction approximate solution a two-level finite element scheme for the Navier-Stokes equations in the two- or three-dimensional case including error estimates for the approximate solution is proposed. It is proven that the presented method gives better error estimations than the standard Galerkin and nonlinear Galerkin methods. Numerical examples are not presented.
