Reliability-based shape optimization of structures undergoing fluid--structure interaction phenomena (Q2495633)

The authors abstract sufficiently describes the purpose of this article. The reviewer would like to point one detail. Their sensitivity analysis is always reduced to the finding of partial derivatives. Unfortunately, such luxury is not always available. In structural designs we may have to differentiate a functional with respect to vectors in some relevant vector field. Thus we have to compute partial Fréchet, or even Gateaux derivatives. Relations between Gateaux differential and the partial Gateaux derivatives have been derived by \textit{J. Dieudonné} in his [Foundations of modern analysis. Enlarged and corrected printing. New York-London: Academic Press. XV (1969; Zbl 0176.00502)] and by other authors such as M. Z. Nashed. Applications to structural systems may be found in [\textit{E. J. Haug, K. K.
