Let \(M\) be a module over a ring \(R\) and Ass\(_fM\) the set of weakly associated primes of \(M\). A submodule \(N\) of \(M\) is decomposable if \(N\) is a finite intersection of primary submodules of \(M\). \(M\) is Laskerian if each proper submodule of \(M\) is decomposable. If \(S\subset R\) is a multiplicative system and \(N\) a submodule of \(M\) then let \(S(N)=\bigcup_{s\in S}(N:_Ms)\). It shows that if \(M\not =0\) is a finite \(R\)-module of finite dimension then \(M\) is Laskerian if and only if for any finite submodule \(N\) of \(M\) it holds: (i) For all \(p\in\) Ass\(_f(M/N)\) there exists \(s\in S=R-p\) such that \(S(N)=(N:_Ms)\). (ii) For any decreasing chain \(S_1\supset S_2\supset\ldots \), where \(S_i\) are complements of unions of primes from Ass\(_f(M/N)\) the decreasing chain \(S_1(N)\supset S_2(N)\supset\ldots \) is stationary.
