Let \(P\) be a poset. By \(\mathcal A(P)\) is denoted an algebra with the same underlying set whose term operations are all the order-preserving functions on \(P\). Let \(P\) be finite, i.e., \(P=\{x_1,\dots ,x_n\}\). We say that \(P\) dismantles to \(Q\subseteq P\) if \(Q=\{x_j,\dots ,x_n\}\) for some \(j\) and for all \(i=1,\dots ,j-1,\) \(x_i\) is an irreducible element in the subposet of \(P\) induced by \(\{x_i,\dots ,x_n\}\). A connected poset \(P\) is dismantable if it dismatles to a one-element subposet. The author proves: Let \(P\) be a finite connected poset with at least 2 elements. Then the variety generated by \(\mathcal A(P)\) is minimal if and only if \(P\) is dismantable.
