The paper under review is concerned with properties of basic Morita equivalences between blocks \({\mathcal O}Gb\) and \({\mathcal O}G'b'\) of finite groups \(G\) and \(G'\), respectively, over a suitable complete discrete valuation ring \(\mathcal O\). We recall that a basic Morita equivalence is given by tensoring with an indecomposable \({\mathcal O}[G\times G']\)-module having an endo-permutation source. Puig has proved that in this case \({\mathcal O}Gb\) and \({\mathcal O}G'b'\) have isomorphic defect groups, \(P\) and \(P'\), say. Let \(P_\gamma\) and \(P'_{\gamma'}\) be corresponding defect pointed groups, and suppose that \(Q_\delta\) is a local pointed group contained in \(P_\gamma\) such that the block \(b_\delta\) of \({\mathcal O}QC_G(Q)\) corresponding to \(Q_\delta\) is nilpotent. (This is the case, for example, if \(Q_\delta\) is self-centralizing, i.e. if \(Q\) is a defect group of \(b_\delta\).) Then \(Q_\delta\) defines a local pointed group \(Q'_{\delta'}\leq P'_{\delta'}\) such that \(Q\cong Q'\) and such that the corresponding block of \({\mathcal O}Q'C_G(Q')\) is nilpotent. The main result of the paper under review shows that, in this situation, there exists a basic Morita equivalence between the blocks of \(N_G(Q_\delta)\) and \(N_{G'}(Q'_{\delta'})\) defined by \(Q_\delta\) and \(Q'_{\delta'}\), respectively.
