Geometry of PDE's. II: Variational PDE's and integral bordism groups (Q2496708)

Within the framework of the the geometry of PDE's, the author classifies variational equations based on their formal properties, and relates constrained variational PDE's to their integral bordism groups. The resulting theory enables us to characterize global solutions of constrained variational PDE's and to connect them with the structure of global solutions of the corresponding constraint equations. Some applications are also provided, together with an application example in the case of Yang-Mills equations. The paper is a continuation of the author's previous paper on the same topic [Part I, \textit{A. Prástaro}, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 319, No. 2, 547--566 (2006; Zbl 1100.35007)].
