This article is concerned with ruled surfaces \(x:M\to\mathbb{E}^m_1\), \((s,t)\mapsto \alpha(s)+t\beta(s)\) of the \(m\)-dimensional Minkowski space \(\mathbb{E}^m_1\), the Gauss map \(G\) of which satisfies \(\Delta G= \Lambda\circ G\), respectively \(\Delta G=f \cdot G\), where \(\Delta\) denotes the Laplace operator of the pseudo-Riemannian manifold \(M\) and \(f\) is a function on \(M\). Notice, the values of \(G\) lie in the Grassmannian \(G(2,m)\) which is considered as a subset of the vector space \(\bigwedge^2\mathbb{E}^m\), and \(\Lambda\) is an endomorphism of this vector space. Null scrolls and (generalized and extended) \(B\)-scrolls are special ruled surfaces of \(\mathbb{E}^m_1\). Some classification results are presented. In order to understand the exact meaning of some statements one must look into the proofs.
