Let \(\mathcal{H}\) be a separable Hilbert space and \(L(\mathcal{H})\) be the algebra of bounded linear operators on \(\mathcal{H}\). For a closed subspace \(\mathcal{S}\) and a positive operator \(A\in L(\mathcal{H})\), let \(\Sigma(\mathcal{S}, A)\) denote the shorted operator of \(A\) to \(\mathcal{S}\). Then \(\rho(\mathcal{S}, A)=\lim_{m\to \infty} \Sigma(\mathcal{S}, A^{m})^{\frac{1}{m}}\) is called the spectral shorted operator of \(A\) to \(\mathcal{S}\). In the present paper, the authors discuss several properties of spectral shorted operators. This is a continuation of the authors' paper [Linear Algebra Appl.\ 381, 197--217 (2004; Zbl 1050.15022)] which studied the matrix case.
