The purpose of this paper is to establish the basic results concerning existence, uniqueness, regularity, and a Harnack inequality of viscosity solutions of the degenerate and singular parabolic equation \[ u_t=\left( D^2 u \frac {Du}{| Du| }\right)\cdot \frac {Du}{| Du| }, \] where \(u = u(x,t)\), \(Du=(\frac{\partial u}{\partial x_1},\dots,\frac{\partial u}{\partial x_n})\) and \(D^2 u\) denotes the Hessian matrix of \(u\). The right-hand side of this equation is the \(1\)-homogeneous version of the infinity Laplacian of \(u\). The authors begin with a standard comparison principle for viscosity solutions in bounded domains, which implies the uniqueness for the Dirichlet problem. The existence of viscosity solutions with continuous boundary and initial data is established with the aid of the approximating equations \[ u_t=\varepsilon\Delta u + \frac 1{| Du| ^2+\delta^2}\left( D^2 u\;Du\right)\cdot {Du} \] and uniform continuity estimates derived by using suitable barriers.
