Let \(\mathcal O\) be a complete discrete valuation ring with an algebraically closed residue field of characteristic \(p>0\), and let \(A=\bigoplus_{x\in G}A_x\) be a fully \(G\)-graded algebra, free of finite rank as an \(\mathcal O\)-module, where \(G\) is a finite group. The authors prove that the 1-component \(A_1\) of \(A\) contains an idempotent \(e\) such that \(eAe\) is Morita equivalent to \(A\) and a crossed product. This result allows to generalize results on crossed products to fully \(G\)-graded algebras. For example, if \(G\) is \(p\)-solvable then every primitive idempotent of \(A\) is conjugate to an idempotent in \(A_H=\bigoplus_{x\in H}A_x\) where \(H\) is a Hall \(p'\)-subgroup of \(G\).
