The authors study the existence, nonexistence and multiplicity of periodic solutions for a differential system of the form \[ x''+m^2 x=\lambda G(t)F(x), \] where \(x=[x_1,\dots,x_n]^T\), \(m\in (0,1/2)\), \(G(t)=\text{diag}[g_1(t),\ldots,g_n(t)]^T\) and \(\lambda\) is a positive parameter. The main result provides a suitable range of the parameter \(\lambda\) for which there exists one, two or no positive periodic solutions, depending on the asymptotic behavior of the slopes of the components of \(F\) at \(0\) and at infinity, respectively. The proofs use the positivity of Green's function together with the well-known Krasnoselskii's fixed-point theorem on compression and expansion of cones in Banach spaces.
