In this paper, the author investigates the Banach algebra generated by a bounded \(C_0\)-semigroup \(T(t)\) on Banach space \(X\) with generator \(A\). Denote by \[ A_T=\overline{\left\{\hat{f}(T)\bigm| \hat{f}(T)=\int^\infty_0f(t)T(t)dt, f\in L^1(\mathbb{R}_{+})\right\}} \] the commutative Banach algebra in \(B(X)\). The author proves that if \(\sigma(A)\cap i\mathbb{R}\) is an at most countable set, then the Gelfand transform of \(S\in A_T\) vanishes on \(\sigma(A)\cap i\mathbb{R}\) if and only if \(\lim\limits_{t\to\infty}| | T(t)S| | =0\). As an application, he obtains a condition for \(A_T\) being semisimple.
