    The paper under review studies \(\widetilde {p}\)-harmonic maps which are defined to be maps \(\varphi: \mathbb{R}^{m} \supset M \rightarrow (N, h)\) from an open subset of Euclidean space into a Riemannian manifold that are critical points of the \(\widetilde {p}\)-energy functional \[ E_{\widetilde{p}}\left(\varphi \right)={\int}_{\Omega}\sum_{i=1}^{m} \frac{1}{p_{i}} \left( \frac{\partial \varphi^{\alpha}}{\partial x^{i}}\frac{\partial \varphi^{\alpha}}{\partial x^{i}}h_{\alpha \beta}(\varphi (x))\right)^{p_{i}/2}\,dx \] over all compact domain \(\Omega\) in \(M\), where \(\widetilde {p}=(p_{1}, \dots, p_{m}) \in \mathbb{R}^{m}\) with \(p_{i}\geq 1\). When \(\widetilde {p}=(2, \dots, 2) \in \mathbb{R}^{m}\) the \(\widetilde {p}\)-harmonic map becomes the usual harmonic map. The main theorem of the paper is a compactness result concerning \(\widetilde {p}\)-harmonic maps into homogeneous space with a left invariant metric.
