The authors prove existence and uniqueness of positive solutions for a fourth-order boundary value problem with singular nonlinearities. The proof is based on a fixed-point theorem for maps satisfying mixed monotonicity hypotheses. Reviewer's remark: There are two proofs in the paper: one is wrong.
