Krein's differential system was introduced and studied in \textit{M.~G.\ Krein}'s article [Dokl.\ Akad.\ Nauk SSSR 105, 637--640 (1955; Zbl 0068.28502)]. In this paper, the author corrects some assertions in Krein's article and obtains some new results for the generalized Krein's system in the matrix case.
