The authors make use of the \(h\)-version of a nonsymmetric discontinuous Galerkin finite element scheme, with interior penalties, in order to solve numerically a homogeneous Dirichlet problem attached to a singularly perturbed 2D convection-diffusion problem. They prove an error bound on a specially chosen mesh (Shishkin mesh) which is uniform with respect to the perturbation parameter. A suggestive numerical example is also carried out.
