The goal of this paper is to present a survey on recent results on the statistical properties of nonuniformly expanding maps on finite-dimensional Riemannian manifolds. The author mainly focuses on the existence of physical measures or SBR measures, which characterize asymptotically, in time average, a large set of orbits in the phase space. Moreover, continuity of the SRB measure, its entropy, decay of correlations and stochastic stability are discussed.
