The author studies the properties of a quadrature formula for an improper integral over the real axis. The nodes of the studied quadrature formula are the zeros of the Bessel functions. The main results of the paper are the following: (i) the quadrature formula converges exponentially; (ii) it is as accurate as the trapezoidal formula over the real axis; (iii) the accuracy of the quadrature formula doubles that of an interpolation formula with the same nodes. It is proved that the purposed quadrature formula can be applied to the computation of integrals of Hankel transform type.
