The authors consider a class of spin systems with random, Gaussian couplings which includes the Edwards-Anderson model as a particular case. Via an application of Gaussian integration by parts identities, they prove a property which they call ''local order''. This says essentially that, when the temperature approaches zero, the expectation of local magnetization and local energy tends to 1. This in general does not imply the existence of long range order, i.e., on the possible absence of spatial decay of correlations.
