The very interesting paper under review deals with the following system of coupled Poisson equations: \[ \begin{cases} -\Delta u=v^p & \text{ in}\;\Omega,\cr -\Delta v=f(u) & \text{ in}\;\Omega,\cr u=v=0 & \text{ on}\;\partial\Omega, \end{cases} \] where \(\Omega\subset \mathbb R^N\) is a bounded domain, \(0<p<{{2}\over{N-2}}\) and the function \(f\) is superlinear without any additional growth restrictions. By means of topological degree theory, the authors prove the existence of nontrivial strong solutions to the system under consideration.
