The complete asymptotic expansion for Bernstein-Durrmeyer operators with Jacobi weights (Q2504836)

The classical Bernstein-Durrmeyer operators are a well known and useful means for the approximation of functions under weak smoothness assumptions. Recently the concept of these operators has been generalized to include weight functions, thus allowing an approximation in a weighted sense. In this paper, the authors discuss the properties of such weighted Bernstein-Durrmeyer operators for Jacobi weight functions. In particular, the pointwise asymptotic behaviour of weighted Bernstein-Durrmeyer polynomials and their derivatives is studied in a very detailed manner.
