Polynomially bounded \(C_0\)-semigroups (Q2505021)

The author characterizes the generators of polynomially bounded \(C_0\)-semigroups in terms of an integrability condition for the second power of the resolvent on vertical lines. This generalizes previous known results on bounded semigroups by A.M. Gomilko [Funct. Anal. Appl. 33, No.4, 294--296 (1999); translation from Funkts. Anal. Prilozh. 33, No.4, 66--69 (1999; Zbl 0962.47019)] and by D. Shi and D. Feng [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 247, No.2, 356--376 (2000; Zbl 1004.47026)] , or on polynomially bounded groups by M Malejki [Semigroup Forum 63, No. 3, 305--320 (2001; Zbl 1034.47014)]. .
