The following delay integral equation is the main object of investigation: \[ x(t)= \int^t_{t-m} [f(s, x(s))+ g(s, x(s))]\,ds,\tag{1} \] where \(f(t,x)\) is nondecreasing in \(x\) and \(g(t,x)\) is noncreasing in \(x\). Assuming that the functions \(f(t,x)\) and \(g(t,x)\) are almost periodic in \(t\) uniformly for \(x\) in any compact subset of \(\mathbb{R}_+\), \(f\) and \(g\) act from the set \(\mathbb{R}\times\mathbb{R}_+\) into \(\mathbb{R}_+\) and \(m(t)\) is a positive almost periodic function on \(\mathbb{R}\), it is shown that the equation (1) has exactly one positive and almost periodic solution which can be obtained via iterative procedure. The main tools used in considerations are some facts concerning mixed monotone operators with respect to a normal and solid cone in Banach spaces. A few examples illustrating the results obtained are given.
