The author considers the biharmonic equation \(\Delta_z(1-| z| ^2)^{-1}\Delta_zu=0\) in the unit disk \(D\), with boundary conditions \(u=f_0\) and \(\partial_nu=f_1\) on the unit circle \(T\) in the distributional sense. The boundary data \(f_0,f_1\) are elements in two homogeneous Banach spaces \(B_1\) and \(B_2\) (of distributions on \(T\)). The condition \(u=f_0\) means that \(\lim_{r\to 1} u(re^{i\theta})=f_0\) as distributions and \(\partial_nu=f_1\) means that \(\lim_{r\to 1}(u_r-f_0)/(1-r)=f_1\) as distributions. The main result is that if a certain distribution \(\kappa=\sum| k| e^{ik\theta}\) acts as a Fourier multiplier between two homogeneous Banach spaces \(B_1\) and \(B_2\), then the solution \(u\) to the biharmonic equation has the appropriate boundary values in the sense of convergence in the Banach spaces \(B_1\) and \(B_2\). The paper also contains some examples of homogeneous Banach spaces which satisfy the condition of the theorem. The results also apply in the unweighted case, corresponding to the situation where the factor \((1-| z| ^2)^{-1}\) is missing in the equation above.
