Let \(M_{1,m}({\mathbb P}^m,n+1)\) be the space of regular maps of elliptic curves equiped with an ordered set of \(m\) points to a curve of degree \(n+1\) in \( {\mathbb P}^n\). In the fibre of the evaluation map \(\text{ev:} M_{1,m}({\mathbb P}^m,n+1) \to ({\mathbb P}^n)^m\) one has as a Zariski open subset the family \(\text{El}(n;p_1,\dots p_m)\) of elliptic curves of degree \(n+1\) in \({\mathbb P}^n\) which contain the \(m\) distinct points \(p_1,\dots p_m\). The largest \(m\) (for given \(n\)) are realized in the pairs \((n,m)= (2,9);(3,8); (4,8); (5,9); (n,n+3), \text{ for } n\geq 6\). We cannot describe here the beautiful geometry revealed in this paper, but will only point that the results are in two directions: 1) the general case \((n ,n+3)\) 2) the case \((5,9)\) which is among the cases when \(\text{El}(n;p_1,\dots p_m)\) is of expected dimension \(0\), (i.e. \((2,9), (3,8), (5,9)\)), and when in fact \(\text{El}(n;p_1,\dots p_m)\) is a point. The less known case \((5,9)\) is attributed here to A. Coble. The corresponding rational elliptic fibration \(f: {\mathbb P}^5 - - \to \text{El}(5;p_1,\dots p_8)\) is studied.
