New explicit exact solutions of the Born-Infeld equation (Q2506051)

The authors consider the Born-Infeld equation \[ (1-u^2_t)u_{xx}+ 2u_xu_tu_{xt}-(1+u_x^2)u_{tt}=0 \] and look for traveling wave solutions \[ u=u(\xi),\quad\xi=x-\lambda t, \] which are solutions of the ordinary differential equation \[ \bigl[1-(u'\lambda)^2\bigr]u''+2 (u'\lambda)^2u''-\lambda^2 [1+u^{\prime 2}]u''=0.\tag{*} \] They present a method to get explicit solutions to \((*)\).
