The author studies the initial-boundary value problem for the Stokes equations with Robin boundary conditions in the half-space \(\mathbb{R}^n_+\). The main result states that the associated Stokes operator is sectorial and admits a bounded J\(H^\infty\)-calculus on \(L^q_6(\mathbb{R}^n_+)\). This implies a local existence result for nonlinear initial-value problem for Navier-Stokes equations with Robin boundary conditions. The proof is based on some resolvent estimates which guarantee that the Stokes operator is the generator of a bounded holomorphic strongly continuous semigroup on \(L^q\)-spaces.
