The authors consider the global behavior of the high order difference equation \[ x_{n+1}=\frac{\alpha + \beta x_{n-k+1}}{A+Bx_{n-k+1}+Cx_{n-2k+1}},\quad n=0,1,\dots, \] where \(A,B,C\) and \(\alpha,\beta\) are positive, \(k\in\mathbb N\), and the initial conditions \(x_{-2k+1},\dots,x_{-1}, x_0\) are positive real numbers. By the change of variables \(x_n=\frac{A}{B}y_n\), the above equation is rewritten into \[ y_{n+1}=\frac{p + q y_{n-k+1}}{1+y_{n-k+1}+ry_{n-2k+1}},\quad n=0,1,\dots, \] where \[ p=\frac{\alpha B}{A^2}, \quad q=\frac{\beta}{A}, \quad r=\frac{C}{B}. \] They study several characteristics of the above second equation such as oscillatory behavior, invariant interval, the character of semicycles, and the boundedness of all positive solutions and global stability. First of all, they discuss boundedness and invariant interval. Next, they present the analysis of semicycles under some specific conditions posed on the coefficients. Finally, the global stability is investigated. They show that every positive solution of the above second equation is globally asymptotically stable for all values of the parameters \(p,q\), and \(r\). For confirming the results obtained, several numerical examples are given.
