The following two theorems are proved in this paper: (1) Given a nonconstant polynomial, if \(f\) is an entire solution of \[ f^{(k)}-e^Qf=\beta(z), \] where \(\beta(z)\) is a small function relative to \(f\) in the Nevanlinna theory sense, then \(f\) is of infinite order. (2) Let \(f\) be an entire function of finite order and \(\alpha(z)\) be a small function relative to \(f\). If \(f\), \(f^{(k)}\) share \(\alpha(z)\), then \((f^{(k)}-\alpha)/(f-\alpha)\) reduces to a nonzero constant.
