This is the third edition of ''Funktionentheorie. II'', critically revised and extended. For the reviews of previous editions see [Grundwissen Mathematik. 6. Berlin etc.: Springer-Verlag. (1991; Zbl 0748.30002), 2., corr. ed. Berlin: Springer-Verlag (1995; Zbl 0925.30002)]. The monograph is complemented by Ch. 15, ``Univalent functions. Bieberbach conjecture'', devoted to the geometric function theory. This chapter introduces the notion of univalent functions, their elementary properties, the Koebe function, and presents the theorems of Gronwall, Bieberbach, Carathéodory (convergence of simple connected domains to their kernel), the conjectures of Bieberbach, Robertson, Milin, and the Löwner theory. The short and elegant proof of the Bieberbach conjecture, obtained by Lenard Weinstein in 1991, is given. This proof uses the Milin conjecture based on the classical Legendre formula known also as the addition theorem for spherical harmonics.
