Let \(X\) be a normed space. The author proves that a mapping \(f: X \to \mathbb C\) is exponential if and only if \(f(x+y) - f(x)f(y) \to 0\) as \(\| x\| +\| y\| \to \infty\) under some suitable conditions. He then applies this result to deduce an asymptotic behaviour.
