In [\textit{J. van Mill} and \textit{G. M. Reed}, Open problems in topology. (Amsterdam) etc.: North-Holland. (pp. 271-278) (1990; Zbl 0718.54001)], Michael asked the following problem: Let \(Y\) be a convex \(G_{\delta }\)-subset of a Banach space. Does any lower semicontinuous multivalued map \(F\) from a paracompact space \(X\) to \(Y\) with convex and closed in \(Y\) values admit a continuous selection? \textit{D. Repovš} and \textit{P. V. Semenov} [Recent progress in general topology II. Based on the Prague topological symposium, Prague, Czech Republic, August 19--25, 2001. Amsterdam: Elsevier. 423--461 (2002; Zbl 1039.54013)] discussed this question in detail. In this note the author gives the negative answer to Michael's question by constructing a counterexample.
