The book is based on a two terms lecture in statistics for students of psychology. Even though the examples refer to psychology problems, the book is also recommendable for related subjects like social sciences. As a special feature, the authors focus from the very beginning on multivariate models. Therefore descriptive aspects of the analysis of variance and of regression analysis are already considered in the first part on descriptive statistics. The second part deals with probability theory and the last part considers estimation and hypothesis testing for multivariate methods. The book is completed by a discussion of some extensions of these methods and many exercises (without solutions).
