\textit{Wolfgang Gaschütz} in 1953, wrote about the Frattini subgroup \(\Phi(G)\) of a finite group \(G\) [see Math. Z. 58, 160-170 (1953; Zbl 0050.02202)]. He also showed that \(\Delta(G)/\Phi(G)\) equals the centre of the quotient group \(G/\Phi(G)\); here \(\Delta(G)\) stands for the intersection of all non-normal subgroups of \(G\). In the paper under review several related topics have been investigated and expanded. Among those, we mention here: Theorem B (paraphrased). Let \(G\) be a solvable finite group for which normality of subgroups is a transitive relation on \(G/\Delta(G)\). Then the following are equivalent: 1) Normality of subgroups is a transitive relation on \(G/\Phi(G)\); 2) The nilpotent residual of \(G\) is a Hall subgroup of \(G\). The results obtained in the paper, are recommended for further reading.
